e -Drive Launches its Facilitator Training Programme

In keeping with its objective of taking English and Computer knowledge to the village, The e- Drive has now embarked on their Facilitator Training Programme, to equip all centers using the Tre-K English Language cum Computer Training course with trained facilitators. This 10 day course commenced on 6^th February 2006, and concluded on the 17^th of Feb 2006. This series of courses will be conducted on a continuous basis for those who would like to be trained as facilitators on the Tre-K Programme.

As the methodology adopted in designing the Tre-K course is more learner- centric than teacher- centric, the instructional help needed to master this course is minimal. All the instruction or teacher support is provided on the Tre-K courseware which comes in the form of interactive multimedia learning tools (CDs) supplemented by two texts. A work book is also available for those who do not own computers and would like to practice the exercises while at home.

Unlike the traditional mode of face to face teaching, the Tre-K course is based on a self learn mode with the help of a facilitator, whose role is to guide the students to learn using the innovative visually attractive methodologies adopted. The facilitator training offers the trainee the opportunity of going through the computer based learning material with the students and using their own creativity to innovate new and novel ways of facilitating learning.
